West Japan Railway Company (JR West) and Sagawa Express Co., Ltd. signed a partnership agreement on May 27, 2026, focused on the 'co-creation of customer experience value.' The companies define this initiative as a 'mobility and logistics co-creation ecosystem,' aiming to enhance customer experience through seamless integration and expand the number of visitors by solving luggage-related challenges. This collaboration aligns with JR West's 'Sustainable Ecosystem in Mobility' and the SG Holdings Group's 'Real Commerce' strategy, aiming to promote regional tourism and revitalize local economies. By the 2030s, the companies plan to integrate their systems to create a platform that offers diverse mobility and logistics services. Additionally, starting June 24, 2026, they will launch a pilot program for 'Same-day Delivery WEST,' a same-day luggage delivery service for inbound tourists between Kyoto/Osaka and Hiroshima/Hakata. The service will be sold through overseas OTAs such as Klook and KKday, allowing for pre-trip booking and payment.
