Saishunkan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., in partnership with NTT East Corporation and Technoble Co., Ltd., will launch a demonstration experiment in June 2026 aimed at establishing a smart cultivation model for ginseng (Panax ginseng) that integrates aquaponics technology and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This three-company project seeks to find a path toward stable supply and new utilization methods for ginseng, while aiming for higher value-added production, including reducing dependence on overseas sources and minimizing environmental impact. Saishunkan Pharmaceutical has consistently pursued ways to apply the 'survival wisdom' of plants to human 'self-recovery power,' positioning 'Changbai Ginseng,' the raw material for its flagship product 'Domohorn Wrinkle,' as a top-tier ingredient. In this project, the companies will utilize NTT East's ICT and AI to build a next-generation circular agriculture system that reduces the burden on the land. By shortening cultivation periods and returning to domestic production, the project aims to break free from overseas dependence and ensure a stable supply of high-quality materials. Furthermore, it will promote 'whole-plant utilization,' using not only the roots but also the leaves and stems, to explore the development of new functional ingredients. The demonstration experiment will be conducted at the 'Aquaponics Lab' to be established within 'NTTe-City Labo' in Chofu, Tokyo.
