Shinshu-based Paint & Sip Studio "SAKE ART" Cooperates as Instructor for Nagano Prefecture-Hosted Experiential Art Event

ARTLIER Inc. (Headquarters: Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture, CEO: Kentaro Meguro), which operates the experiential art studio "SAKE ART (Sake Art)", will participate as a collaborator and instructor in the "Alcohol Ink Art Experience Event", which will be held for the first time on August 1, 2026 (Sat) at "Ginza NAGANO" (Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), hosted by the Nagano Prefecture Sales Bureau.

The theme is the starry sky of Chio Village, Nagano Prefecture. It is a new cultural experience for adults, allowing participants to imagine the night sky of Shinshu while enjoying Nagano Prefecture wine, even while in Ginza, Tokyo.

From "Savoring" to "Creating" - Shinshu Experiences Delivered Outside the Prefecture

SAKE ART is an experiential art studio where participants paint while enjoying wine or non-alcoholic cocktails, based on the "Paint & Sip" concept popular mainly in Europe and the United States. Since its launch in June 2024, the studio has held numerous events throughout Nagano Prefecture, attracting many participants.

For SAKE ART, which has primarily operated within Nagano Prefecture, this is the first opportunity to deliver a Shinshu experience to people outside the prefecture. By cooperating as an instructor for a workshop hosted by Nagano Prefecture, they will offer an experience themed around the starry sky of Chio Village in Ginza, Tokyo.

The aim is to provide an experience where participants can not only "view and savor" Nagano's nature and culture but also take home something they have "created with their own hands." They hope to provide an opportunity for people outside the prefecture to experience the charm of Shinshu from a different perspective than usual. They propose a new form of regional experience that encourages people to learn about and become interested in Nagano Prefecture through art, and perhaps visit the area someday.

A Starry Sky, Unique in the World, Born from Chance

Alcohol ink art is an abstract art form that enjoys the randomness created by alcohol and ink. As the ink spreads and mixes, it creates unexpected colors and patterns, ensuring that no two works are ever the same. There's no need to try to draw well – that very randomness makes each piece one-of-a-kind.

The theme for this event is the night sky of Chio Village, which was selected by the Ministry of the Environment's National Starry Sky Continuous Observation as "the place where stars appear to shine the brightest" and is affectionately known as "Japan's No. 1 Starry Sky Village."

The deep indigo blue, the gradation of light spreading like a nebula, the sparkle of countless stars – the unpredictable spread of ink somehow overlaps with the starry sky of Chio Village. SAKE ART instructors will provide detailed guidance from the basics of how to use the tools, so even those who have never painted before can participate with peace of mind. Completed works can be taken home in a photo frame made of Nagano Prefecture wood. Displaying it in your home or office will add your own "Chio Village starry sky" to your daily life.

As an art studio based in Nagano, SAKE ART has provided art experiences unique to Nagano to local residents and tourists visiting Nagano.
