Salesforce Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Chairman and CEO: Shinichi Koide; hereinafter "Salesforce") today announced the launch of Agentforce Help Agent, an autonomous AI service agent that can be deployed in minutes and charges only when customer issues are resolved.

Why it matters: In 2024, Salesforce launched Agentforce, a platform enabling businesses to build, deploy, and manage AI agents. Since then, many companies have successfully used Agentforce to develop AI agents for customer service and achieved significant results. However, deploying AI agents in production environments typically required extensive setup, including integration with internal knowledge bases, defining executable actions, and connecting to various customer channels. The newly announced Agentforce Help Agent dramatically simplifies this deployment process. With guided setup, it can be deployed in minutes and is an autonomous service agent ready to operate across all customer touchpoints—voice, web, customer portals, and messaging. Built on the Agentforce 360 Platform, it is designed to autonomously handle customer inquiries from start to resolution.

Product features: A high-performing AI service agent must do three things: understand the business, perform real tasks, and work across all channels. Agentforce Help Agent delivers all three out of the box. First, it automatically integrates with Salesforce Knowledge, enabling it to understand company-specific information. This allows businesses to leverage existing knowledge content, significantly reducing the burden of knowledge management and data preparation—common hurdles in AI agent deployment. Second, it goes beyond answering questions by performing real business operations, with a rich library of pre-built actions for case management, appointment rescheduling, order updates, and more. Third, it enables multiple channels—including voice, web, portals, and messaging—from a single interface, ensuring consistent service across every customer channel.

Salesforce itself uses the Help Agent: On help.salesforce.com, the agent has already resolved over 4.3 million customer inquiries, with 70% resolved without human intervention. The insights and best practices gained from this experience have been directly incorporated into Agentforce Help Agent.

Agentforce Help Agent introduces a new outcome-based pricing model. Charges apply only when the Help Agent successfully resolves a customer inquiry autonomously. No fees are incurred if the customer requests a live agent or if the agent fails to resolve the issue. This allows businesses to pay based on results—not AI usage—aligning investment directly with customer resolution outcomes.

Companies including PenFed Credit Union, Fisher & Paykel, and PowerSchool are already leveraging Salesforce to implement AI-powered self-service.

"At PenFed, we aim to deliver fast, personalized self-service at scale to every member, and Agentforce is helping us achieve that vision. With Agentforce, our teams can now focus on what they do best—deeply understanding each member’s needs and proactively supporting them. The ease of deployment and outcome-based pricing align perfectly with our philosophy that member success is our success. We’re excited about what’s ahead with Salesforce," said Nicole LaCamp, Senior Vice President of Platform Strategy & Engineering at PenFed Credit Union.

"At Fisher & Paykel, we aim to deliver the right support at the exact moment customers need it. An intelligent AI agent that instantly understands customer context and product usage can transform the support experience. Since deploying our AI agent, our self-service resolution rate has already doubled. We look forward to further improving both operational efficiency and customer experience by empowering customers to resolve issues seamlessly within their existing workflows," said Rudi Khoury, Chief Digital Officer at Fisher & Paykel.

"PowerSchool delivers fast, accurate support to millions of students, educators, and administrators. But delivering personalized service at scale across every channel is challenging. With Agentforce Help Agent, we can now rapidly deploy seamless, personalized service across all channels, enabling customers to resolve issues instantly. We’re excited to partner with Salesforce to shape the future of customer service with AI agents," said Mark Miller, Vice President of Innovation & Delivery at PowerSchool.

More details:

Pay only for resolutions: Charges apply only when the Help Agent autonomously completes a customer inquiry from start to finish. No fees are charged if the customer provides negative feedback or escalates to a live agent. In such cases, the full conversation history and relevant context are handed over to the human agent, ensuring a smooth transition. Additionally, usage of Data 360 and Agentforce during AI agent interactions is not counted toward billing. This allows businesses to deploy AI agents without worrying about usage volume or overage fees, directly linking ROI to successful customer issue resolution.

Built-in knowledge and testing environment: Knowledge and data preparation are common challenges in AI agent deployment. Help Agent generates responses based on Salesforce Knowledge and supports content ingestion via drag-and-drop file uploads or URL-based web crawling. The setup interface includes a preview feature, allowing businesses to test and validate AI agent responses before going live.

Pre-built actions and simple omnichannel rollout: Deploying AI across multiple channels often requires complex integrations and configurations. Help Agent enables activation of voice, web, customer portals, and messaging from a single interface. It comes with pre-built actions for inquiry handling and case management, and additional capabilities—such as order management, appointment scheduling, and account management—can be easily added via Agentforce Builder or enterprise AI coding agents.

Redesigned Customer Service Portal

Salesforce has refreshed the Agentforce Customer Service Portal, one of Help Agent’s key deployment channels. The new, conversation-first interface delivers personalized responses and dynamic cards that enable customers to complete necessary actions in real time, based on their inquiry. By leveraging real-time data, it can proactively trigger workflows before issues arise, enabling anticipatory customer service.

Expanding options for rapid AI agent deployment in service

Recently, Salesforce announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Fin, a company offering an AI customer agent platform tailored for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Fin provides AI service agents that autonomously resolve customer inquiries end-to-end and is already used by over 30,000 companies worldwide.

Following the acquisition, combining Salesforce and Fin’s capabilities will give businesses even more options to deploy AI agents across their entire customer service operations. The combined solution will be especially suited for SMBs seeking fast deployment, seamless integration with existing systems, and rapid time-to-value.

The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory approvals.

Salesforce perspective: Kishan Chetan, EVP and GM of Salesforce Agentforce Service, said, "The value of AI agents in customer service isn’t just about faster responses—it’s about reliably resolving customer issues from start to finish across every channel. Agentforce Help Agent incorporates insights from nearly two years of real-world deployment. Built on a secure, integrated platform, it makes it easier than ever to deliver personalized, proactive omnichannel experiences. And with our outcome-based pricing model, Salesforce’s success is directly tied to our customers’ success."
