MINDUS Inc. (CEO: Yuya Kazama, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) announced that it has terminated its healthcare products and changed its company name to 'SAND-X Inc.' to accelerate its business of realizing wide-area real-time underground sensing. With this, SAND-X enters its second founding phase, challenging the data factory market by delving into both hardware and software. Since its founding in 2023, the company had been developing D2C and IT businesses in the healthcare sector, but is now fully committed to a new business specializing in social infrastructure monitoring using distributed small underground sensing devices. CEO Kazama has experience in various design and development projects related to distributed Mars penetrators at JAXA. The technical philosophy of 'placing small devices underground to understand planetary subsurfaces' is the starting point of this business. SAND-X stands for 'Subsurface Asset Network for Decentralized X'. The company uses its proprietary 'SAND-Node' device to obtain real-time data related to soil and water. Looking ahead, the company aims to expand its technology not only to infrastructure monitoring but also to disaster prevention and lunar/Mars exploration. It is currently conducting seed-stage fundraising.
