This facility complies with the latest GDP guidelines and provides the highest standard of quality control with pharmacists on site.

Background of the establishment

In the Tokyo metropolitan area, there is a growing need for temperature-controlled warehouses capable of managing pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Particularly in the pharmaceutical industry, compliance with GDP guidelines is required, and there is an increasing demand for warehouses with high-quality management systems. Furthermore, driver shortages are accelerating due to the 2024 logistics problem. Securing warehouses close to consumption areas that enable efficient delivery has become an important issue for companies. Leveraging its track record of supporting logistics in the Tokyo metropolitan area for many years, Sanwa Soko will open a next-generation temperature-controlled warehouse that combines high-quality management, excellent location, and large-scale storage.

[Large-scale storage and high-density management] The double-deep automated warehouse achieves a storage capacity of approximately 5,000 pallets (4,000 pallets in the automated warehouse, 1,000 pallets in the cargo handling area). It can accommodate a variety of temperature-controlled products.

[Quality control compliant with GDP guidelines] Fully equipped with a 24-hour temperature monitoring system (VAISALA's temperature monitoring system), whole-room air conditioning (constant temperature and humidity control at 20-25°C), and dust-proof floors in all rooms. With pharmacists on site, it realizes high-quality product storage backed by GMP management and pharmaceutical manufacturing licenses. We thoroughly implement lot management through our system and have developed a backup structure.

[Elimination of contact risks with other cargo through dedicated floor operation] Each floor from the 1st to the 3rd can be operated as a dedicated space for specific shippers. Vertical transportation using Omni Lifters ensures independent flow lines for each floor, completely eliminating the risk of mixed loading or contact with other cargo.

[Environmental consideration and business continuity] We reduce environmental impact through private power generation via solar panels, LED lighting, and high-efficiency air conditioning. Fully equipped with emergency power supplies and vibration-damping racks/dampers, we maintain a stable supply even during disasters. In addition, all-weather berths ensure that cargo handling operations are not interrupted even in rainy weather. The installation of dock levelers eliminates the gap with trucks, reducing cargo handling time and driver burden.

[Excellent access to the Tokyo metropolitan area] 5km/13 minutes from Tomei Expressway Yokohama Aoba IC, 9km/20 minutes from Tomei Expressway Yokohama Machida IC, approx. 15km/35 minutes from Yokohama Port, and approx. 25km/40 minutes from Haneda Airport.
