Oumu Town, Hokkaido and Stellar Green Sign Partnership Agreement for Carbon Neutrality

Oumu Town, Hokkaido, and Stellar Green, a company supporting the creation of forest carbon credits, signed a partnership agreement on March 26, 2026. This collaboration aims to realize Oumu Town's 'Zero Carbon City' goal by 2050 by leveraging its vast forest resources, which cover approximately 74% of the town's area. The partnership involves verifying carbon credits and promoting sustainable primary industries. Oumu Mayor Kenji Takahashi highlighted the initiative as a crucial step toward combining forest and marine resource preservation with regional economic growth. Stellar Green CEO Akinori Nakamura expressed commitment to converting natural assets into economic value for the town's sustainable future.
