Schoo Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Kenshiro Mori), a company driving social transformation through internet-based learning, has been selected as the preferred candidate for Fukuoka City's competitive proposal project for a 'self-development video learning service.'

In this project, Schoo will provide its corporate online learning service, 'Schoo for Business,' to Fukuoka City employees. By leveraging over 9,000 learning contents, a smartphone-accessible learning environment, and expertise in supporting local governments, Schoo will promote employees' proactive learning and help them acquire the skills necessary for digital transformation (DX).

Background of the Project

As local governments advance the digitalization of administrative services and improve operational efficiency, the importance of enhancing the digital literacy of each employee and developing human resources capable of driving operational improvements is increasing. Fukuoka City is also pursuing initiatives under its 'Fukuoka City DX Strategy' to improve operational efficiency and public services through digitalization.

This project aims to create an environment where employees can proactively learn relevant themes according to their own tasks and challenges. Schoo will support this self-directed learning through 'Schoo for Business,' helping employees acquire skills necessary for DX and operational improvement.

Three Features Supporting the Learning Environment for Fukuoka City Employees

Through 'Schoo for Business,' we will help create an environment where all Fukuoka City employees can learn proactively based on their roles and tasks. This project leverages three features to encourage continuous learning and the acquisition of skills needed for DX:

1. Over 9,000 diverse content pieces covering various learning needs We provide over 9,000 learning contents covering themes from DX/IT literacy to business skills and liberal arts. We will set up an environment where every employee can choose and proactively learn themes relevant to their work.

2. Smartphone app support for learning anytime, anywhere By providing access through a smartphone app, employees can learn during commutes or in between tasks. This ensures accessibility even for busy employees or those with different work styles.

3. Utilizing experience from 87 municipalities to ensure sustained utilization Schoo has supported online learning in 87 local governments. Applying this expertise to Fukuoka City, we will promote effective utilization and ensure that learning becomes a sustained habit after implementation.

Having supported talent development in over 4,500 companies and 87 municipalities, Schoo will continue to refine its model for municipal staff learning through this partnership with Fukuoka City, while expanding talent development support to other local governments and regional businesses, especially in the Kyushu area.
