In recent years, with the urgent need to respond to increasingly severe water-related disasters, securing training time for firefighters has become a nationwide challenge. This initiative is a pioneering program in Japan that integrates underwater cleaning and water rescue as two axes of technical training, unlike previous efforts where garbage was simply collected if found during water rescue training. It aims to enhance on-site response capabilities and explore the possibilities of private sector collaboration.
