NPO MORE Kikaku (MORE Kikaku, Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Representative: Yumi Shirai) has received the "Excellence Award" and the "Special Prize (Chubu Economic Federation Award)" at the 26th Chubu Future Creation Grand Prize for its "Marine Environment Conservation x Community Mutual Aid Model Project."
What is the Chubu Future Creation Grand Prize?
The "Chubu Future Creation Grand Prize" is an award system that recognizes community development activities undertaken collaboratively by diverse entities such as residents, NPOs, companies, schools, and government agencies, targeting Nagano, Gifu, Shizuoka, Aichi, and Mie prefectures.
Organized by the Chubu Community Development Association, the award targets activities that create attractive communities, foster mutual aid and participatory community design, and contribute to the achievement of SDGs. Award-winning organizations are determined through screening by academic experts and on-site investigations.
What was Praised?
MORE Kikaku was recognized for its "Marine Environment Conservation x Community Mutual Aid Model Project." The initiative, which began with collecting underwater waste, was highly praised for its integrated approach to environmental conservation and community development, involving collaboration among diverse stakeholders including municipalities, companies, educational institutions, fisheries-related parties, divers, and citizens.
MORE Kikaku, based on the philosophy that "seas, rivers, and mountains are connected by a single body of water," continuously engages in marine environment conservation activities and environmental education, primarily around the Izu Peninsula.
To date, a total of 1,032 individuals from 320 organizations have cooperated, and over 20 tons of waste have been collected from the sea and mountains.
This award is a recognition of the activities we have accumulated together with the local community.
Encouraged by this award, MORE Kikaku will further develop the "Marine Environment Conservation x Community Mutual Aid Model" cultivated on the Izu Peninsula and continue its efforts to connect sustainable community development and rich oceans to the future.
As a major challenge for this year, we will exhibit at "ASIA DIVE EXPO JAPAN 2026" with our colleagues.
We look forward to your continued warm support and cooperation.
