Seiko Watch Corporation (President, CEO, and CCO: Shinji Hattori; headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) will host the special event 'SHO-ism Seiko | Shohei Ohtani - 10 Years Journey' in Tokyo (July 3–5, 2026) and Osaka (August 1–2, 2026) to celebrate Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers becoming a brand ambassador for 10 years. Additionally, a special video interview reflecting on Ohtani's 10-year journey with Seiko will be released today, June 17, 2026, at noon. A new commercial starring Shohei Ohtani, titled '<King Seiko> The Newest Classic 2026,' will also begin airing on the same day.

Today, people around the world are captivated by every pitch and swing of Shohei Ohtani, whose achievements continue to inspire widespread admiration, emotion, and courage. Since 2016, Seiko has proudly appointed Ohtani as its domestic brand ambassador. Starting in 2026, he will also serve as a global ambassador, expanding our brand's reach internationally.

To mark this milestone 10th anniversary, Seiko will host the special event 'SHO-ism Seiko | Shohei Ohtani - 10 Years Journey,' reflecting on the past decade together and focusing on Ohtani's unwavering philosophy toward time—his 'SHO-ism.'

The event will feature exclusive content that embodies Ohtani's philosophy of time, including rare interview footage collected over 10 years, a display of past advertising graphics from <King Seiko>, <Seiko Prospex>, and <Seiko Astron>, and an exhibition of past limited-edition watches created for Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani: Seeing my own watch model released, or versions reflecting my team's colors, brought joy not just to me but also to the people around me. I feel we’ve created many wonderful memories together. (Continued)

─── Changes over the past 10 years

Ohtani: In the past two years, I got married and had a child, so my personal life has changed a lot. (…) I believe past memories shape the present, and I hope to keep moving forward into the future.

─── Your vision for 10 years from now

Ohtani: For a player, turning 40 might be a benchmark. The key is how well I can maintain my performance. Personally, I look forward to each year—how my child will grow, etc. (…) It’s an age where I think about how to conclude my playing career, which feels both bittersweet and exciting.

Born in 1994 in Iwate Prefecture.

Height: 193 cm, Weight: 95 kg, Right-handed pitcher, Left-handed batter.

2012: Joined Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters as the 1st-round draft pick.

Gained attention as a 'two-way player' excelling both as a pitcher and batter.

2016: Contributed to the Fighters' Japan Series victory with dual excellence, earning Pacific League MVP.
