Seiryo Electric Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka; President: Kii Nishii) has delivered its self-developed 'AI Parking Occupancy Monitoring System' to 'Michi-no-Eki Shizukuishi Aneko,' a facility jointly developed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's Tohoku Regional Development Bureau and Shizukuishi Town, Iwate Prefecture. The system uses AI to analyze camera footage and automatically determine the occupancy status of parking spaces in real-time. The data can be monitored from remote offices, contributing to more efficient management. By adopting an on-premise configuration, the system operates independently of external networks, ensuring stable operation with reduced security risks. As the facility serves as a key spot along National Route 46 and acts as a disaster response hub, the data will help optimize operations, such as deciding when to open temporary parking during congestion or managing the site during emergencies. The project begins with a 'small start' using a single camera for verification, with future plans to expand coverage and provide real-time information to the public.
