Launch of 'Toyama Komatsuna and Salmon Barley Rice Ball' to utilize surplus produce and promote local consumption

Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. will launch the 'Toyama Komatsuna and Salmon Barley Rice Ball' as part of its local production for local consumption initiative. It will be available at approximately 340 stores in Toyama, Ishikawa, and Fukui prefectures starting June 2. In collaboration with JA Zen-Noh Toyama, the product utilizes Komatsuna that became oversized and thus 'non-standard' due to weather conditions. The rice ball features the crunchy texture of the greens, the umami of salmon, and the satisfying texture of barley rice, contributing to food waste reduction and supporting local producers.
