Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. has launched a demonstration for utilizing unstructured data in manufacturing, in collaboration with Flywheel. This initiative is part of 'GENIAC' (Generative AI Accelerator Challenge), a project promoted by Japan's METI and NEDO to strengthen domestic generative AI development capabilities. The demonstration aims to organize unstructured data—such as drawings, design information, and procedural manuals in the housing business's design and manufacturing processes—into an 'AI-Ready' format. Flywheel will handle system and tool development, while Sekisui Chemical will verify their practical usefulness. By combining AI with their housing expertise, the companies seek to reduce dependencies on individual skills, minimize rework, improve productivity, address labor shortages, and enhance customer value such as quality and delivery speed. Future plans include expanding the results to all business areas within the Sekisui Chemical Group and promoting co-creation with other partners to integrate operations, data, and AI.
