Serio Co., Ltd. Launches "Yuhou Assist" Care-Assist Electric Wheelchair on April 1, 2026

Serio Co., Ltd., headquartered in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, launched its new care-assist electric wheelchair, "Yuhou Assist," on April 1, 2026. This product is designed to electrically support caregivers pushing a wheelchair, reducing their physical strain. The "Yuhou Assist" incorporates a drive unit manufactured by Nabtesco, a leading precision equipment company, and a frame supplied by Matsunaga Seisakusho, a prominent wheelchair manufacturer. Key features include sensors in the grip that detect road surface load, providing assistance synchronized with the caregiver's walking speed. It is capable of operating on slopes and ramps up to 14 degrees. The product aims to enhance outdoor mobility for individuals requiring assistance, including those in elderly care, and for caregivers who may be physically frail or find complex operations challenging. The suggested retail price is 418,000 JPY (non-taxable). Distribution will be through Serio sales offices, mobility shops, and authorized dealers nationwide.
