Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshio Watanabe; hereinafter "the Company") held a "CSR Procurement Briefing Session" (hereinafter "the Session") on June 12, 2026, at its Niihama Plant in Ehime, targeting its business partner companies, in conjunction with the revision of its CSR Procurement Guidelines.
The Session was conducted to deepen understanding of the Company Group's CSR Procurement Guidelines and its initiatives regarding human rights, labor, and the environment across the supply chain. Utilizing a hybrid format combining on-site attendance and online streaming, the event welcomed participation from over 400 business partner companies.
On the day, the Company presented details of the revised CSR Procurement Guidelines and future initiatives. Additionally, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. delivered a guest lecture, sharing its supply chain management practices and practical case studies.
Notably, in January 2026, the Company delivered a presentation at a supplier seminar hosted by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., demonstrating ongoing collaboration between the two companies to enhance supplier awareness in the areas of human rights, labor, and environmental sustainability. This briefing session further strengthened that partnership, deepening joint efforts toward supply chain sustainability.
Moving forward, the Company Group will continue to work collaboratively with business partners and other enterprises to promote responsible procurement and build a sustainable supply chain.
