Notice of Consolidation of Crushing Business to Strengthen Recycling Operations

Shinagawa Refractories Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroyuki Fujiwara; hereinafter 'the Company') announces that, for the purpose of further strengthening the refractory recycling business promoted to realize a circular economy, it has decided to transfer the crushing business conducted by its subsidiary, Shinagawa General Co., Ltd., to Shinagawa Yozai Co., Ltd., a specialized crushing company with which the Company has had a long-standing cooperative relationship, on August 31, 2026.

### Background and Purpose The Company has built a recycling flow for used refractories and is working on sustainable resource circulation. Regarding the crushing process, we have handled it with a dual system consisting of our subsidiary and a cooperative company. However, anticipating future expansion in processing volume, a more advanced and efficient processing system is required. Therefore, by consolidating the business into a cooperative company with excellent crushing technology and equipment maintenance capabilities and unifying the system, we aim for the following enhancements.

Strengthening the processing capacity for recycled raw materials By consolidating the crushing business into a specialized company, we will increase productivity and supply capacity, building a system capable of responding swiftly and flexibly to the growing demand for recycled raw materials. 2. Efficiency and stabilization of business operations By integrating the business operating companies, it is expected to stabilize equipment operation and improve operational efficiency.
