The Central Federation of Societies of Commerce and Industry held its 65th annual general meeting on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo, where it approved the fiscal 2025 business report and financial statements, and conducted the by-election of officers. Following the meeting, a reception was held, attended by Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Ryosei Akazawa, Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Kenichiro Ueno, LDP Secretary-General Shunichi Suzuki, and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Toshiyuki Ochi, among many other guests. Societies of Commerce and Industry are public organizations established mainly in towns and villages under the Societies of Commerce and Industry Act, comprising 1,587 societies and approximately 800,000 member businesses nationwide.
