Announcement: Reading Group for 'Finance Theory', Column 5: 'Digitization of Payments and Finance'

Shosukabu.com Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nerima-ku, Tokyo; Representative Chairman: Yutaka Yamanaka) will hold a reading group centered on the column "Digitization of Payments and Finance: Stablecoins, Central Bank Digital Currencies, and Asset Tokenization" from the book "Finance Theory: Financial Literacy for the Global World" by Ai Sato, in co-sponsorship with the Nerima Political Study Group and the Civil Division 8 Monitoring Committee.

A key feature of this column is that it captures the digitization of finance not merely as a technological innovation, but as a movement that redesigns the very mechanisms of money, payment, and asset holding. Stablecoins serve as new private payment methods, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) as digital forms of public currency, and asset tokenization holds the potential to transform the holding and transfer mechanisms for stocks, bonds, and real estate. While appearing as distinct themes, they are interconnected by a singular question regarding the future landscape of the financial system.

While digitization enhances convenience, it also gives rise to new issues such as credit, regulation, privacy, financial inclusion, and systemic stability.
