Showcase Launches 'ProTech Smart IC Authentication for Tablets' for In-Person Identity Verification

Showcase, Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Koichi Matsumoto; Securities Code: 3909), a provider of DX cloud services, has launched 'ProTech Smart IC Authentication for Tablets' as a new feature of its identity verification tool, 'ProTech ID Checker.' This service enables identity verification (JPKI/Public Personal Authentication) using the IC chip information of My Number cards by connecting an NFC-enabled tablet with a card reader. With the amendment of the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds in April 2027, the use of IC chip-equipped identity documents and the reading of IC chip information will become mandatory for in-person transactions. This service addresses the need for such verification environments in retail and counter operations. Currently, it supports My Number cards, with plans to expand support to driver's licenses, residence cards, and special permanent resident certificates by the summer of 2026. Leveraging the low-code nature of 'ProTech ID Checker,' implementation can be completed in as little as one week. With a track record of over 400 client companies as of May 2026, the company will promote the service primarily to financial institutions and telecommunications operators.
