Message from the Organizer
Magazines have always reflected the social changes surrounding us.
On the occasion of Shueisha’s 100th anniversary, this exhibition will unravel the archives of fashion magazines published over the past 60 years since the launch of "Weekly Seventeen" in 1968.
By retracing their journey, we will examine the evolving portrayals of women and men in magazine pages, as well as shifts in gender perspectives.
Who are we dressing for, and why? How have we lived through fashion?
We hope this exhibition becomes a new page toward a future where everyone can live freely with abundant choices.
