SITRON JAPAN Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, President: Akira Watanabe) announces the release of the "XENA 585M" CMOS camera for astronomical photography from Player One Astronomy, scheduled for June 9, 2026.

Product Features

Adopts Back-Illuminated Monochrome CMOS Sensor IMX585

The XENA 585M is a back-illuminated monochrome CMOS camera equipped with SONY's 1.2-inch IMX585 sensor.

The IMX585 boasts a resolution of approximately 8.3 million pixels, 2.9μm pixels, and a full well capacity of 47ke-. It achieves both high tonal expression and low noise, making it suitable not only as a guide camera but also for deep-sky photography.

With a maximum saturation charge capacity (FullWell) of 47ke-, photography can be performed utilizing its wide dynamic range.

When the gain exceeds 210, it automatically switches to HCG (High Conversion Gain) mode, reducing readout noise. It achieves an astonishingly low readout noise of as little as 0.7e-.

Unlike the Ceres and Sedna series from the same brand, it is equipped with 128MB of DDR3 memory. This helps prevent frame drops and stabilizes readout, significantly reducing readout noise.

Supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) Mode

The HDR mode can be used by switching the shooting mode in the capture software. The HDR mode is ideal for capturing celestial objects with significant brightness differences, such as planets, the Moon, and the Sun.

*The HDR mode does not guarantee HDR effects for all subjects.

*Supported capture software includes SharpCap / N.I.N.A. / FireCapture (as of June 2026).

Non-Amp Glow Function Included

Equipped with a "Non-Amp Glow" function that suppresses noise from heat generated by the sensor and circuitry, as well as infrared light, ensuring high-quality images even with long exposures.

DPS (Dead Pixel Suppression) Function

Automatically removes unnecessary dead pixels, such as hot pixels and cool pixels, allowing for high-quality images without the need for dark frame subtraction.

Overcurrent and Overvoltage Protection System

Includes a built-in protection system to prevent circuit damage in case of power supply abnormalities from the USB.
