On June 4, 2026, "Kodomo Ongaku Shokudo" was held at Edogawa Futaba Kindergarten.

Silverbacks Principal Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Yoichi Hino / Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) held "Kodomo Ongaku Shokudo" on June 4, 2026, at Edogawa Futaba Kindergarten in Edogawa-ku, Tokyo. Over 100 children enjoyed performances by professional orchestra members.

To children, the experience of music and "harmony" by professional musicians

"Kodomo Ongaku Shokudo" is an activity that not only delivers wonderful performances but also conveys the message to children that "each person expresses themselves freely (individuality) while respecting each other and following common rules (discipline). True harmony is born from the exquisite overlap of these elements."

An orchestra has the charm of musicians with different personalities and roles listening to each other's sounds to create a single piece of music, and a moving harmony is born from the resonance of diverse personalities.

Through the "power of respecting individuality and harmony" that orchestras possess, "Kodomo Ongaku Shokudo" aims to help children recognize diverse personalities and feel the importance of creating a single harmony through their performance.

Over 100 kindergarteners were captivated. Experiencing professional performance at Edogawa Futaba Kindergarten

Children leaning forward to listen intently to the performance. Smiles abound with percussion instruments they've never touched before.

After the music, a treat was also given. "Come again!" voices echoed. The natural garden watched over by a mulberry tree.

Edogawa Futaba Kindergarten, the venue this time, has about 130 children aged 1 to 5. About 10% of the children have roots in other countries such as China, Taiwan, and the Philippines, and children with various cultures and backgrounds spend time together.

Over 100 children participated on the day. When the rehearsal began, they were very curious, peeking in from the classroom windows and asking, "What's going to start?"

And when the performers entered with the sound of percussion instruments, the children's eyes were all drawn to the instruments. Some exclaimed in surprise at the large cello, "It's too big!" As the performance progressed, the children gradually leaned forward, and before they knew it, the front row had moved significantly forward from the start.

When familiar songs like "Sanpo (from My Neighbor Totoro)" were played, handclaps naturally started, and some children sang along. Children were seen enjoying the music with their whole bodies, tapping their feet to the rhythm.

After the performance, a percussion instrument experience session was also held. The children experienced firsthand how the sound changes depending on the force and method of striking while actually playing the drums, enjoying a valuable time touching real instruments.

Planting the "seeds" of enjoying art and culture in children's hearts

Mr. Hajime Sugawara, Principal of Edogawa Futaba Kindergarten, commented on this initiative as follows:

"It's rare for young children to have the opportunity to listen to orchestral music. Most children rarely have the chance to experience classical music, and I believe it was their first experience seeing orchestral instruments up close and feeling their sound and performance. It must have been a very enriching experience. Through this experience, I feel that the seeds for enjoying art and culture have been sown in the children's hearts. We want to nurture those seeds in our future childcare."

String quartet, flute, and percussion ensemble

On the day, the performance was given by a string quartet, flute, and percussion ensemble. Familiar songs such as "Umi no Mieru Machi," "Sanpo," and "Boyon March" were performed.

Additionally, in the instrument introduction using "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star Variations," the tone of each instrument was introduced one by one, and finally, it was demonstrated how a beautiful harmony is created when all the sounds overlap. The charm of an orchestra, where diverse personalities resonate and create harmony, was conveyed.
