Skymatix Appoints Hidetoshi Fujino, Founder of Leos Capital Works, as Outside Director

Skymatix Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Zentaro Watanabe; hereinafter "the Company") is pleased to announce that Hidetoshi Fujino, founder of Leos Capital Works Inc. and possessing extensive experience in investing in and nurturing growth companies in Japan, has been appointed as an Outside Director.

Background and Objectives for Mr. Fujino's Appointment as Outside Director

Currently, Japan faces rapidly escalating challenges surrounding its social infrastructure, including aging infrastructure, labor shortages, and the need to respond to increasingly severe natural disasters. To address these numerous issues, it is essential to develop a "spatial data infrastructure" that integrates diverse spatial data acquired from drones, satellites, ground sensors, smartphones, and other sources, enabling its utilization across society.

The Company, with its mission to "Create a New Society with Remote Sensing," has been promoting the efficiency and labor-saving of on-site operations in fields such as construction, infrastructure management, disaster prevention, and forestry, primarily through its spatial data integration platform "Kumiki." Based on its accumulated technology and track record, the Company is now fully engaged in building and implementing a spatial data infrastructure that will become the next standard for society.

Furthermore, the technological trend is evolving significantly from generative AI, which understands language and information, to physical AI, which understands the 3D space and physical conditions of the real world to solve problems. Born in Toyama Prefecture in 1966. Graduated from Waseda University, Faculty of Law in 1990 and joined Nomura Investment Management (now Nomura Asset Management). Served as a fund manager at Jardine Fleming Investment Trust & Management (now J.P. Morgan Asset Management) from 1996 and at Goldman Sachs Asset Management from 2000. Became independent in 2003 and founded Leos Capital Works. Launched the "Hifumi" series of investment trusts, growing them into funds supported by a wide range of individual investors. Stepped down as Representative Director of the company in 2026. In the same year, founded HEVN STAGE, which engages in planning and production of animation works and development of content IP. To date, he has listed two companies he founded as an entrepreneur, and as an angel investor, he has invested in over 20 companies, focusing on supporting startups. He also serves as a committee member of the Toyama Prefecture Growth Strategy Council (Council for Realizing a Population of 10 Million Happy People) and is actively involved in regional revitalization. He is a Senior Distinguished Professor at Tokyo University of Science, Visiting Professor at Keigu University, Visiting Professor at Shukutoku University Faculty of Regional Creation, and Visiting Professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology. His books include "Invest Like a Pro [Expanded Edition]" (Nikkei Business Jinbun Bunko) and "What Investors Value More Than Money" (Seikaisha Shinsho).
