Small Worlds TOKYO will open a new 'Shibuya Area' on June 11, a 1/80 scale diorama of the Shibuya cityscape, within its miniature museum in Ariake, Tokyo. This aims to capture inbound demand and strengthen its role as a hub for disseminating Japanese culture.

We have recreated 'Shibuya', a place visited by 60% of inbound tourists and a continuous broadcaster of Japanese culture, as a 1/80 scale city diorama. The dynamic railway network above and below ground, the alternating day and night cycles in the city, the sound of trains going 'clickety-clack', and the Shibuya Scramble Square with 3,000 LEDs lighting up above you. The countless people and cars crossing the intersection make you feel as if you can hear the city's hustle and bustle. This work has been crafted with a pursuit of realism to provide memories and inspiration. Please come and see its power.
