Shin Nihonkai Ferry Co., Ltd. will hold the "Learn by Making: Ezo Deer Leather Craft Experience" in cooperation with the "Ezo Deer Hide Utilization Project EZOWOLF STORY Project," promoted by NPO ezorock, which is based in Sapporo. This event is a collaborative project with the "Taste the Bounty of Hokkaido: Game Meat Fair" currently being held in the ship's restaurant.

In this event, participants can learn about resource utilization that does not waste life and coexistence between humans and wild animals through the creation of original keychains using Ezo deer leather, which is sourced from Hokkaido.

In recent years, issues affecting people's lives, such as damage to agriculture and forestry and traffic accidents, have become more serious in Hokkaido due to the increasing populations of Ezo deer and brown bears. On the other hand, initiatives to utilize the lives of captured animals as regional resources and build better relationships with nature are also expanding.

Through three experiences – "making," "learning," and "touching" – this event will allow participants to deepen their understanding of Hokkaido's natural environment, the relationship between the history of Hokkaido's development and wild animals, and coexistence with wild animals in an enjoyable way.
