Kung Fu Homage Action Title 'ZHEN: Shattered Legacy' Announced for Release by Soft Source

Singaporean game publisher Soft Source is proud to announce the upcoming release and the immediate availability of a public demo for 'ZHEN: Shattered Legacy,' developed by Malaysian studio Ghost Machine Games. A new trailer has also been released to coincide with the announcement.

Set in 'Zhen,' a desolate realm inspired by East Asian landscapes devastated by ancient wars, players take on the role of a robotic warrior monk. Armed with a simple quarterstaff, you must journey through a harsh world to challenge Kung Fu masters and claim the title of Grandmaster. The project was born from the development team's deep passion for classic Hong Kong cinema, such as 'The 36th Chamber of Shaolin' and 'Once Upon a Time in China.'

The game features 'old-school' twin-stick brawler mechanics, where players move with the left analog stick and aim attacks with the right. Success in battle hinges on timing, precision, and rhythm, offering a satisfying flow of dodging and parrying. The world-building blends inspirations from Japanese 'Haikyo' (ruins) with Southeast Asian cultural elements. Enhancing the atmosphere is a soundtrack influenced by the 90s 'Boom Bap' hip-hop style, reminiscent of The Wu-Tang Clan.
