Yuki Hayama, born in Arita, Saga Prefecture in 1961, is a ceramic artist and author who celebrated his 50th anniversary in the craft last year. Trained in the traditions of Hizen porcelain, he is a rare artist who pursues universal beauty through superhuman technique and a unique historical worldview. His activities extend beyond Japan, with high acclaim in cities like Helsinki and New York. He is also an author of picture books and novels. In recent years, he has expanded the possibilities of ceramics by creating large-scale works for indoor and outdoor displays, as well as immersive installations. This exhibition presents Hayama's unique worldview in a three-part structure. Part 1 features installations inspired by music; Part 2 explores the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures; Part 3-I focuses on the coexistence of nature and humanity; and Part 3-II depicts the four great ancient civilizations. By connecting the past, present, and future, the exhibition expresses the eternal thoughts we pass on to the future under the theme "Over the Rainbow."
