Soliton Systems, Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Osamu Kamada; hereinafter "Soliton") announces the launch of the "Personal Information Detection" feature for its file transfer support product "FileZen S" starting June 29, 2026.
This feature will be available as a standard function of FileZen S at no additional license cost. Existing FileZen S customers can enable it by updating their firmware.

Adding personal information detection to file transfers in network-isolated environments
FileZen S is a product designed to securely transfer files between isolated networks, such as internet-connected networks and core information systems, and is widely used by local governments, public institutions, financial organizations, and healthcare providers. These organizations frequently handle files containing personal data—such as resident information, customer records, and application details—and therefore require verification processes to ensure files transferred between isolated networks do not contain personal information, in order to prevent data leaks.
The newly launched "Personal Information Detection" feature automatically checks uploaded files for personal data, including My Number (Japanese personal identification number), phone numbers, email addresses, addresses, and credit card numbers. When personal information is detected, users can choose to either cancel the transfer or submit an approval request. In the case of an approval request, an authorized approver reviews the content and decides whether the transfer should proceed. Administrators can customize settings based on operational requirements, such as specifying transfer directions and actions to take upon detection, and can review logs of detection results, approval statuses, and transfer histories.
This functionality helps reduce the risk of inadvertently transferring files containing personal information, supporting the standardization of secure file transfer operations.
[Key Features]
Automatic personal information detection
Automatically detects personal information such as My Number, phone numbers, email addresses, addresses, and credit card numbers during file upload.
Per-file detection result verification
When personal information is detected, users are notified on-screen per file, and the detected strings can be downloaded as a text file for verification. (Figure 1)
Transfer control upon detection
When personal information is detected, users can choose to either cancel the transfer or submit an approval request. For approval requests, an authorized approver reviews the content and determines whether the transfer should be permitted.
Customizable settings and log monitoring
Administrators can configure settings based on operational needs, including transfer direction and actions upon detection. Detection results, approval statuses, and transfer histories are available for review in logs.
Supported file formats for detection
The feature supports personal information detection across major business file formats, including Microsoft Office, PDF, text, CSV, and Ichitaro.
