Kin Town, Okinawa Prefecture (Mayor: Tsukasa Kinjo), NTT WEST Corporation Okinawa Branch (Branch Manager: Makoto Furugen), and Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. (President: Koji Ishikawa) have concluded a 'Comprehensive Partnership Agreement for Realizing a Regional Decarbonized Society in Kin Town' with the aim of contributing to the revitalization of Kin Town by working together to promote regional decarbonization.

1. Background and Purpose Kin Town considers it its mission to maintain its rich natural environment for the future and to aim for a comfortable and vibrant town that coexists with nature. In March 2026, it formulated the 'Kin Town Global Warming Countermeasures Execution Plan (Regional Measures Section)' to realize a decarbonized society. This plan requires the participation and cooperation of all entities, including not only the administration but also town residents, NPOs, and businesses. Meanwhile, NTT West supports local government efforts that simultaneously aim for economic promotion and greenhouse gas emission reduction by leveraging regional strengths, working to solve regional issues in terms of both the environment and economy. NTT West also supported the formulation of Kin Town's aforementioned plan. In addition, Sompo Japan has been promoting decarbonization by developing 'Eco-safe Drive' which balances safe driving with CO2 reduction, and automobile insurance premium discount services based on driving characteristics. Against this background, the three parties have concluded this agreement to collaboratively implement initiatives such as the promotion of eco-driving, the promotion of decarbonization management for SMEs in the town, and the creation of a disaster-resilient, safe, and secure town through the use of renewable energy and ICT technology.

3. Main Outline of the Agreement (Priority Areas) To realize a regional decarbonized society in Kin Town, the priority areas for efforts based on this agreement are as follows. Specific details and implementation methods will be decided through consultation between the parties. (1) Promotion of eco-driving that is friendly to people and the environment (2) Decarbonization management for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) (3) Creation of a disaster-resilient, safe, and secure town through the use of renewable energy and ICT technology (4) Environmental education for children who will lead the next generation of Kin Town (5) Other matters related to the promotion of regional decarbonization in Kin Town

4. Future Initiatives With the conclusion of this agreement, the three parties will work together to promote regional decarbonization and aim for the revitalization of Kin Town.
