Sony Network Communications Inc.'s high-speed fiber-optic service, 'NURO Hikari,' has been ranked #1 (sole winner) in all five categories of the 'Japan Fixed Broadband Experience May 2026' report, published by the international network analysis firm Opensignal in May 2026.
This report evaluates the actual data of fixed broadband users in Japan across five key metrics: Reliability Experience, Consistent Quality, Download Speed, Upload Speed, and Video Experience.
NURO Hikari is the first service in Japan to achieve the #1 spot in all five categories for user experience among fixed-line users nationwide. Following its record-breaking performance in the previous report released in July 2025, it has received even higher acclaim in this latest report and was named 'Best Home Internet.'
Furthermore, in regional user experience, NURO Hikari was ranked #1 in 27 out of 35 possible awards across its service areas (Chubu, Chugoku, Hokkaido, Kanto, Kinki, Kyushu, and Tohoku). Notably, it secured the #1 spot in all five categories in the Chugoku, Hokkaido, Kanto, and Tohoku regions.
Since its launch in April 2013, NURO Hikari has continuously invested in network infrastructure to provide richer internet experiences. This includes a record-scale expansion starting in fiscal year 2023, doubling the capacity compared to the previous year. The company also actively monitors communication environments based on customer feedback to ensure stable and comfortable service.
As a Sony Group communication service, NURO Hikari remains committed to standardizing 10Gbps services for high-speed, high-capacity communication and enhancing the overall customer experience, from the initial application to post-installation usage.
