SORACOM Appoints Two New Vice Presidents to Lead Global Business

SORACOM, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ken Tamagawa) today announced the appointment of two new Vice Presidents to further accelerate the growth of its global business.

Richard Halliday, who has been responsible for the rapid growth of the US business and concurrently served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), has been appointed VP CEO of Americas. Ken Otsuki, who has led SORACOM's communication technology development and global alliances, has been appointed VP of Global Business Development. These appointments will strengthen our organizational structure and drive further growth and innovation in our global business.

Richard Halliday VP CEO of Americas

Prior to joining SORACOM, Richard Halliday oversaw P&L for multiple manufacturing business units at ITW. At Premier Farnell, he drove product strategy and sales enhancement for a global distribution business exceeding $1 billion in revenue. At Digi International, as VP of Channel Sales/Alliances, he transformed the Go-to-Market model into a partner-led growth engine. He joined SORACOM in 2022 as Head of Partnerships for the Americas region, subsequently expanding his responsibilities to cover sales and technical services, driving business growth.

Ken Otsuki VP of Global Business Development

Ken Otsuki majored in Electronic Communication Engineering at university and worked at SoftBank for approximately 10 years, engaged in the development and verification of SIM cards and devices. He joined SORACOM in 2016 and moved to the UK subsidiary in 2021, where he has overseen product management for the data communication service SORACOM Air, development of eSIM/cellular devices, global alliances with various technology partners, carrier relations with overseas telecommunications operators, and business and technology development in next-generation wireless communication technologies.
