Shohei Matsumoto, COO of Space Entry Inc. (Headquarters: Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture), will speak at two events held on the same day in Toyama on July 27, 2026. The company is actively working to increase the number of people challenging themselves in space by providing opportunities to learn about the joy of R&D in space technologies such as space robotics, and to understand that space is no longer limited to a select few, but a future accessible to all. Moving forward, the company will continue to expand opportunities for space engagement across Japan, starting with 'knowing' and 'experiencing' space.
In the morning, he will participate in a career education lecture and inquiry-based learning program 'SOUTH Inquiry Project' for high school students at Toyama Prefectural Takaoka Minami High School. He will deliver a talk to students about the potential of the space industry and the importance of a proactive, challenge-oriented mindset in today’s world.
In the afternoon, he will speak at an entrepreneur-focused talk session held at 'HATCH,' an incubation facility in Toyama where Space Entry's local office is located. He will discuss the value of taking on challenges and the mindset needed to pioneer new markets.
Though the two events—one for high school students and one for entrepreneurs—may seem different at first glance, the core message is the same:
'Space is a world where anyone can challenge themselves.'
There is no single, finalized 'correct answer' in space. Therefore, shaping the future is not limited to a few experts. Engineers, designers, educators, architects, marketers, community workers, high school students, and entrepreneurs—each person’s unique experience and expertise can become a force that supports a new space industry. Additionally, Toyama Prefecture, with its strong tradition as one of the leading manufacturing regions on Japan’s Sea of Japan coast, holds great potential for space robot R&D and service deployment.
Our goal is to expand space from a domain limited to a few individuals into a world where anyone, regardless of age, gender, specialty, or region, can participate. What matters most is first 'knowing' about space, 'experiencing' it, and reimagining space—not as something distant—but as a realm of personal possibility.
We believe that 'knowing' is the first step toward taking on a challenge.
Every individual’s small step can become the force that builds the space industry of the future. We hope many of you will join us and take a new step toward space through dialogue. Registration is currently open for the afternoon session. We look forward to meeting you at the venue.
