NEXA Hosts Free Webinar on JGSDF/JMSDF/JASDF Culture and Mindset for Defense Industry Entrants on June 17

NEXA, operated by Space Data Inc. (CEO: Koya Sato), will host the second installment of its 'Defense Industry Entry Series' webinar on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 15:00 to 15:40 JST. The free online session is titled 'Understanding Ground, Maritime, and Air Self-Defense Force Officers: Their Culture, Thinking, and Behavior in 30 Minutes.' The first session covered the organizational structure of the Ministry of Defense and the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF). This second session shifts focus to the people within that structure. Speaker Kazuya Iwamoto, a former JSDF officer at Space Data Inc., brings hands-on experience from the Air Staff Office and the Cabinet Cybersecurity Center, covering weapons systems maintenance, budget acquisition, Ministry of Finance negotiations, and cybersecurity operations. The webinar covers three areas: Japan's security environment as JSDF officers perceive it; cultural characteristics distinguishing Ground, Maritime, and Air forces; and the rank and assignment system that determines decision-making authority. A third session is planned covering defense budgets, procurement processes, and security requirements.
