This year, the three events 'OceanBiz2026 in YAMAGUCHI', the '11th Underwater Robot Festival', and the 'Underwater Science Classroom' will be collectively held as 'Iwakuni Ocean Tech Days2026'.
'OceanBiz', which has been well-received at Shimizu Port in Shizuoka, will now be held in the western Japan region.
'OceanBiz' is a comprehensive event specializing in underwater drones, aquatic robots, and related technologies, organized by the Japan Underwater Drone Association.
It was held consecutively in 2024 and 2025 at Shimizu Port in Shizuoka Prefecture, receiving significant acclaim within the underwater drone industry.
Now, co-hosted by Yamaguchi Prefecture and Iwakuni City, 'OceanBiz2026 in YAMAGUCHI' will be held as a western Japan venue. This provides an opportunity for companies, local governments, educational institutions, students, and local residents in Yamaguchi Prefecture, the Chugoku region, and western Japan to see, learn about, and consult on underwater drones and related technologies up close.
In addition to the Yamaguchi event, 'OceanBiz2026 in SHIZUOKA' is also scheduled for Thursday, October 22, and Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Shimizu Marine Terminal in Shizuoka Prefecture. This year, OceanBiz will leverage the unique characteristics of both the Yamaguchi and Shizuoka regions to showcase the appeal of underwater drone and aquatic robot technologies with different content.
