Spectee, a resilience-tech startup, has announced that Yoichi Okubo, an OSINT analyst at the company, has been appointed as a research fellow at the Institute for New Domain Security (INODS).
In recent years, amid rising geopolitical risks and intensifying natural disasters, the collection and analysis of crisis information utilizing Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) has gained significant attention. This method has become essential not only for corporate BCP and supply chain management but also for national and societal-level security.
Okubo has led crisis information collection and analysis operations at Spectee's Operation & Global Business Division. By applying this practical expertise to the field of security studies, he aims to generate new insights. He will continue his OSINT duties at Spectee while participating in INODS's research activities.
About the Institute for New Domain Security (INODS) Established in 2024 and led by Takamichi Saito (Professor at Meiji University), INODS aims to contribute to the safety of citizens by identifying new domain threats in cyberspace and sharing information. The institute operates the information site "UNVEIL," publishes a weekly newsletter, and conducts specialized research.
