[Key Lecture Contents]

Traditional hyperscalers can be described as having a business model similar to "dinosaurs" that enhance air conditioning efficiency and profitability by expanding floor space. However, currently, increased GPU heat generation, soaring equipment costs, and energy procurement are intensifying the uncertainty surrounding large-scale investments. Concerns are rising about the risks of AI data centers scaling up with the same approach as hyperscalers.

Particularly in cooling technology, the currently favored water-cooling method may not withstand GPU requirements within 5-10 years, making immersion cooling a strong contender. This, in turn, necessitates a review of overall architecture and infrastructure. Consequently, an approach balancing short-term demand response with mid-term structural design revisions is required. The operation of small-scale unit clusters, such as containers capable of controlling heat, energy, and weight, is emerging as a practical solution for the time being.
