Background and Purpose of the Event SPACE COTAN Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taiki-cho, Hiroo-gun, Hokkaido; Representative Director and CEO: Yoshinori Odagiri) and the STARTUP HOKKAIDO Executive Committee (Location: Sapporo, Hokkaido; Secretary-General: Kyohei Fujima) will hold "HOKKAIDO SPACE SUMMIT, SAPPORO LINK 2026" on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at New Otani Inn Sapporo in Chuo-ku, Sapporo.

This summit will be held for the first time in Sapporo, the economic center, as a "starting point for accelerating industrial collaboration" that connects to the "Hokkaido Space Summit" held annually in Obihiro. It aims to provide opportunities for participation in space business to all industries, attract diverse players, and accelerate the creation and realization of new business opportunities centered on space.

Currently, the space sector is expected to be a future core industry for the nation, and space policy is undergoing a rapid transformation from government-led initiatives to a phase of full-scale public-private collaboration for social implementation and commercialization. This summit will feature keynote speeches and practical sessions on themes such as "Realizing Space Transportation" and "Economic Utilization of Space." By sharing concrete initiatives and deepening discussions among Hokkaido players beyond regional boundaries, it will provide an impetus for participation in the space business.

We aim to widely disseminate the current status and future prospects of Hokkaido's space industry, strongly link the momentum generated in Sapporo to the "Hokkaido Space Summit" held in Obihiro in autumn, and make this a milestone for Hokkaido to unite and elevate the space industry to a next-generation core industry.
