Taoyuan City continues to enhance its public transportation system, making commuting, school travel, and daily mobility more convenient. The newly launched 'TAB New Taoyuan Arterial Bus' (Taoyuan Arterial Bus) positions arterial bus routes as the backbone of public transit, comprehensively optimizing route planning, service frequency, waiting facilities, and brand image to create a more efficient and user-friendly public transportation environment. Peak Service Every 3 Minutes: Building a High-Efficiency Transit Network

The TAB New Taoyuan Arterial Bus network consists of 12 arterial routes, including the optimization of five existing lines and the launch of seven new ones, connecting key living zones across Taoyuan. To address previous challenges such as detours through the city center and inconvenient transfers when traveling across districts, the city has introduced a 'circular network' concept. New routes including the South Loop, North Loop, and Daxiaochanggeng lines have been added, linking major transit hubs like bus transfer stations to create a more complete public transportation network. This enables smoother cross-district travel and significantly reduces commuting and travel time.

The five existing arterial lines (Tai-I, BR, GR, HSR, and Zhongfeng) continue to improve toward peak-hour headways of under 15 minutes and off-peak headways under 30 minutes. The Tai-I Arterial Line has shortened its peak-hour frequency to 3–7 minutes, with buses arriving as frequently as every 3 minutes. Starting in July, the BR Wanshou Arterial and HSR Arterial lines will increase service frequency. The HSR Arterial Line will also simplify its route, allowing boarding and alighting at all stops, providing more immediate and convenient service and realizing the 'bus arrives, you board' experience.

Taoyuan Mayor Chang Shan-cheng stated that the comprehensive upgrade of the TAB New Taoyuan Arterial Bus optimizes the network, frequency, and waiting facilities to deliver more convenient public transportation services.

In addition to network and frequency upgrades, the seven newly launched routes will offer free rides during the trial period for passengers using a Taoyuan Citizen Card, lowering the barrier to public transit use and encouraging more people to choose buses for daily travel. The city government is also upgrading both hardware and software, including new driver uniforms, solar-powered color electronic paper smart bus stops, and waiting shelters. In August, a next-generation bus dynamic information system will be introduced, integrating real-time traffic data and smart algorithms to improve the accuracy of arrival predictions, making waiting more reliable and riding more convenient.

Taoyuan is also continuing to integrate its 'Tao Xiao Ba' shuttle service, aiming to expand to 120 routes this year with a service coverage rate of 95%. This gradual expansion supports the vision of 'large buses on main roads, small buses to your home; transfer from arterial to shuttle, buses everywhere,' delivering a more comprehensive public transportation experience.

The nine-seater Tao Xiao Ba shuttles can reach deep into communities, covering areas inaccessible to large buses and enhancing riding convenience.

Popular characters are integrated into both exterior livery and interior design, with thoughtful details from body paint to handrails, turning buses into vibrant city landmarks. Whether for daily commuting, school travel, or weekend outings, riders can enjoy a playful and energetic atmosphere, showcasing Taoyuan's public transportation as both functional and aesthetically appealing.

From now through September, passengers who ride the New Taoyuan Arterial Bus and scan the LINE official account QR code onboard can accumulate ride points. One point is awarded for riding a regular arterial bus, and two points for riding a Mickey-themed bus. Accumulating one point per month qualifies riders for a prize draw, while six points enter them into a monthly grand prize draw featuring popular items such as iPads and Dyson floor-cleaning vacuums.
