The newly launched 'TAB New Taoyuan Arterial Bus' (Taoyuan Arterial Bus) positions arterial bus routes as the backbone of public transit, comprehensively optimizing network planning, service frequency, waiting facilities, and brand identity to create a more efficient and user-friendly public transport environment. Peak Service as Frequent as Every 3 Minutes: Building a High-Efficiency Transit Network

The TAB New Taoyuan Arterial Bus network comprises 12 arterial routes, including the optimization of five existing lines and the launch of seven new ones, connecting key living zones across Taoyuan. To address past challenges such as detours through city centers and inconvenient transfers for cross-district travel, the city has introduced a 'loop network' concept. New routes including the South Loop, North Loop, and Danan-Chang Gung lines have been added, linking major transit hubs like bus transfer stations to create a more comprehensive public transport network. This enables smoother cross-district travel and significantly reduces commuting and travel times.

The five existing arterial lines (Tai-I, BR, GR, HSR, and Zhongfeng) continue to improve toward peak-hour headways of under 15 minutes and off-peak headways under 30 minutes. The Tai-I Arterial Line now operates every 3 to 7 minutes during peak hours—meaning a bus arrives as frequently as every 3 minutes. Starting in July, the BR Wanshou and HSR Arterial Lines will increase service frequency. The HSR Arterial Line will also simplify its route, allowing boarding and alighting at all stops, providing more immediate and convenient service and realizing the 'get on as soon as the bus arrives' experience.

Taoyuan Mayor Chang Shan-cheng stated, 'The comprehensive upgrade of the TAB New Taoyuan Arterial Bus optimizes the network, service frequency, and waiting facilities, delivering more convenient public transport services.'

In addition to network and frequency upgrades, the seven newly launched routes will offer free rides to passengers using a Taoyuan Citizen Card during the trial period, lowering the barrier to public transport use and encouraging more people to choose buses for daily travel. The city is also upgrading both soft and hard infrastructure, including driver uniforms, solar-powered color e-paper smart bus stops, and waiting shelters. In August, a next-generation real-time bus information system will be introduced, leveraging live traffic data and AI algorithms to improve the accuracy of arrival predictions, making waiting more reliable and riding more convenient.

Furthermore, Taoyuan continues to integrate the 'Tao Xiao Ba' shuttle service, aiming to expand to 120 routes this year with coverage increasing to 95%. This supports the vision of 'large buses on main roads, small buses to your home; transfer from arterial to shuttle buses, public transport everywhere,' providing citizens with a more comprehensive public transport experience.

The nine-seater Tao Xiao Ba buses can access narrow community streets unreachable by larger buses, filling service gaps and enhancing convenience.

Popular characters are integrated into both exterior paint designs and interior fittings. From vibrant exterior wraps to themed hand straps and interior details, every element is thoughtfully designed, turning buses into vibrant city landmarks. Whether for daily commuting, school travel, or weekend outings, passengers can enjoy a playful and energetic atmosphere, showcasing Taoyuan's public transport as both functional and aesthetically appealing.

Ride, Collect Points, and Win Prizes: Monthly Giveaways Await

From now through September, passengers who ride the New Taoyuan Arterial Bus and scan the LINE Official Account QR code onboard can accumulate ride points. One point is earned per ride on a regular arterial bus, and two points for rides on Mickey-themed buses. Accumulating at least one point per month qualifies riders for prize draws, and earning six points enters them into the monthly grand prize draw. Prizes include popular items such as iPads and Dyson floor-cleaning vacuums.
