KMT New Taipei mayoral candidate Lee Szu-Chuan visited Huang Wen-Hsiung Lvpin Tea Factory in Sanxia District today (9th) before heading to Chengfu Village Office for a grassroots living room meeting with several village chiefs and local residents. Lee emphasized his commitment to continuously engage frontline communities, listen to their concerns, and translate these voices into concrete policy proposals. If elected, he pledged to integrate resources across city government departments to promote local特色 tourism and improve the quality of life for Sanxia residents.
At Chengfu Village Office, Lee met with Chengfu Village Chief Tsai Wen-Min, Ankeng Village Chief Li Jui-Ping, Zhulun Village Chief Chang Po-Yung, Sanxia Village Chiefs Association President and Zhongzheng Village Chief Chen Chih-Chuan, along with local representatives and residents, to hear frontline opinions and jointly discuss local development and infrastructure issues.
During the meeting, village chiefs shared views on Sanxia’s construction needs, public facility maintenance, and management by the city government. They also exchanged insights on developing mountain tourism in Sanxia, suggesting continuous integration of local特色 resources, strengthened tourism marketing, and industrial support to attract more visitors and boost the local tourism economy.
Lee stated that future development would be tailored to local needs, implementing place-based governance to enhance residents’ quality of life, promote local特色 tourism, drive industrial growth, and create opportunities for youth to return and work in their hometowns. He also addressed concerns from seniors about the current senior citizen card system, where points are often unusable. Lee proposed transforming the senior card into a 300-point EasyCard system, expanding its usage and spending scope, while also increasing resource allocation for village-level infrastructure. His policy proposals received unanimous praise from attending village chiefs, who commended Lee for truly understanding grassroots needs.
Later, Lee visited Sanxia’s famous Sausage Street, sampling local delicacies and interacting with vendors and residents along the way. Many people approached him for handshakes and photos, with cheers and encouragement echoing throughout. Some even remarked, 'You look better in person!'—sparking laughter and warm interactions. The enthusiastic reception highlighted Lee’s strong popularity in the Sanxia area.
