Where to go this summer vacation? Taoyuan’s 46-kilometer western coastline now offers a brand-new experience! The Taoyuan Tourism Bureau held the opening event of the 'Coastal Living Lab' today (9th) in Guanyin District, officially launching the 'Pearl Coast' transformation and co-creation base. Previously, visitors to Taoyuan’s coast mostly visited Zhudong Fishing Port or Yong’an Fishing Port. With the launch of this new base, hidden gem shops, design-driven homestays, and Hakka maritime culture across the four coastal districts are now seamlessly connected. The event also launched a photography contest with generous total prizes—simply snap beautiful seaside photos with your smartphone and win up to NT$12,000.

46 Kilometers of Stunning Coastline! 'Coastal Living Lab' Opens in Guanyin, Revealing Five New Experience Concepts

Chen Jing-fang, Director of the Tourism Bureau, explained that the Pearl Coast initiative is driven by three pillars: design integration, tourism marketing, and cross-domain collaboration, gradually linking the northern Zhudong Fishing Port to the southern Yong’an Fishing Port. To unify scattered coastal attractions and stories into a cohesive tourism corridor, the new base will serve as a hub for local engagement and visitor guidance.

Located at No. 69, Zhongshan Road, Guanyin District, Taoyuan City, the 'Coastal Living Lab' acts as the co-creation base for the Pearl Coast project. It provides an overview of the Pearl Coast concept, information on沿线 attractions, local feedback collection, and tourism consultation services. The space is designed around five core concepts: Parenting, Explore, Active, Rich, and Link. Through real-life case studies and visual storytelling, visitors gain insight into the Pearl Coast’s journey—from brand building and space improvement to tourism promotion.

Whether you’re a nature lover seeking coral reefs, wetlands, dunes, and stone weirs, or a culture enthusiast exploring local village stories, this co-creation base enables one-stop trip planning.

10 Curated Aesthetic Transformation Stores! Upcycled Fishing Nets and Themed Scents Deepen Your Northern Coast Experience

The Taoyuan City Government Tourism Bureau has been actively promoting tourism revitalization in the four coastal districts—Luzhu, Dayuan, Guanyin, and Xinqu. The bureau has supported the upgrade of numerous unique shops and accommodations. On the hardware side, it has created Instagrammable landmark walls and art installations reflecting local character. On the software side, it developed signature 'Pearl Coast scents' and exploration kits.

The base showcases 10 design-integrated success stories, including SNA VILLA’s welcome kits, LIAO LIAU Homestay’s signature scents, Riyaoru Homestay’s themed pillows, and the Stone Weir Story House’s upcycled fishing net bags. These design-forward local brands are redefining traditional coastal tourism, significantly enhancing the overall spatial experience.
