Global leader in visual technology and educational solutions, ViewSonic, has partnered with Tunghai University in Taiwan to advance smart campus development. By integrating display technology with educational technology, the collaboration enhances functionality across various teaching environments—including large lecture halls, AI notebook computer classrooms, and AI PC computer classrooms—creating smarter teaching spaces that better support AI applications, collaborative learning, and immersive interaction (watch the success story video).

On the 8th, Tunghai University hosted an 'Immersive Workshop on AI Teaching Applications,' inviting representatives from municipal education network centers and frontline teachers to observe and exchange insights on integrating AI into teaching and utilizing smart campus spaces.

In response to the rapid advancement of generative AI, Tunghai University has actively deepened its AI integration, establishing AI PC classrooms, high-performance AI computing centers, and smart teaching environments to gradually build a comprehensive AI campus ecosystem. This latest upgrade extends existing developments into diverse learning spaces, providing stronger spatial support for knowledge exchange, collaborative learning, and interactive teaching.

President Chang Kuo-En of Tunghai University stated, 'In recent years, Tunghai University has advanced AI in teaching, research, and governance. We aim to cultivate students’ cross-disciplinary abilities through real-world AI applications. This teaching environment upgrade not only enables more diverse teaching methods but also provides students with greater opportunities for active participation, interactive exchange, and hands-on exploration. With comprehensive teaching resources and learning support, we aim to foster cross-disciplinary thinking, technology application, and problem-solving skills for unknown challenges.'

Lien Yu-Jen, General Manager of ViewSonic Taiwan, said, 'AI is not only transforming teaching tools but redefining the role of teaching spaces in learning. The value of educational technology lies not in deploying more devices, but in helping teachers create more interactive, collaborative, and engaging learning experiences across diverse teaching scenarios. ViewSonic has long been committed to educational technology, and we are delighted to collaborate with Tunghai University to see how teaching spaces, AI applications, and curriculum design are closely integrated, making educational technology a vital force in supporting teaching innovation and talent development.'

Tunghai University’s Maopang Hall has installed a 294-inch All-in-One LED display, overcoming the brightness limitations of traditional projectors in large venues. This provides a more immersive visual experience for large lectures, forums, presentations, and inter-university exchanges, enhancing the quality of communication. A commercial display at the front of the podium allows presenters to monitor presentation content and flow in real time, eliminating the need to frequently turn back to check the main screen, enabling natural interaction with the audience and smoother knowledge exchange. During the recent 'Live International AI Technology Seminar,' the LED display was used to simultaneously present keynote speeches, maintaining clear and detailed visuals without dimming the lights, enhancing the realism of large-scale live events and lectures.

The AI NB computer classroom in the Library and Information Center adopts the Scale-Up active learning classroom concept, using multiple ViewBoard interactive displays to establish a collaborative teaching model. In courses like 'Educational Database Analysis and Application,' students can gather around the interactive displays to jointly review charts and data, immediately discuss analysis results, and share group outcomes. Teachers can provide real-time guidance and feedback based on each group’s progress, naturally integrating problem-based learning (PBL) and AI-assisted collaborative learning into the classroom, improving student engagement and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

The AI PC computer classroom in the Technology Building integrates interactive displays with the myViewBoard immersive digital whiteboard system, supporting material presentation, real-time annotation, wireless projection, and interactive discussions. In 'C++ Programming' courses, teachers can directly mark program structures and key points on the interactive display, allowing students to view and practice immediately, eliminating the need to switch back and forth between theoretical explanations and coding operations. This naturally connects abstract concepts with hands-on practice, enhancing classroom interaction and comprehension.

Tunghai University also hosted an 'Immersive Workshop on AI Teaching Applications,' inviting representatives from municipal education network centers and teachers from various schools to tour the campus, participate in AI teaching workshops, and share experiences, showcasing practical achievements in integrating AI into classrooms and smart campus planning, promoting cross-level educational exchanges on AI teaching applications and future teaching space development.

Beyond this collaboration with Tunghai University, ViewSonic has deepened AI education applications in Taiwan in recent years, integrating hardware, software, and services to deliver one-stop digital teaching solutions covering pre-class, in-class, and post-class activities. The company supports teachers in improving teaching efficiency, promotes student engagement, and partners with schools and educational institutions across Taiwan to build smart teaching environments, advancing educational technology across all levels. As AI gradually integrates into teaching workflows, display and interactive devices have become crucial interfaces connecting AI applications, collaborative learning, and communication—enabling AI to move beyond content generation and actively enhance classroom learning.
