To further promote local elderly care, Changhua County has established its 377th community care station at Tianbao Temple in Gongguan Village, Dacheng Township, operated by the Changhua Lecheng Social Welfare Association. County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei attended the揭牌 ceremony on the morning of the 10th to celebrate the official launch. Magistrate Wang expressed gratitude to Xu Rui-fang,理事长 of the Changhua Lecheng Social Welfare Association, CEO Hu Pei-juan, association staff, and volunteers for their dedicated efforts. She also thanked Dacheng Township Mayor Chen Yu-zhao and his township office team for their support and assistance in ensuring the smooth establishment of the station.
Magistrate Wang stated, "Changhua County has a total of 591 villages and neighborhoods. Today marks the opening of our 377th care station. Our goal is to establish a care station in every village, enabling elders to receive the best possible care in their familiar hometowns." She also highlighted the county's Elder Happiness Card, which provides 1,000 welfare points per month. These points can be used for:
- Urban buses operated by Changhua Bus, Yuanlin Bus, Nantou Bus, and Zhonglu Bus - Intercity buses including Ubus and Kuo-Kuang Bus - A 50 NTD discount on basic co-payments at contracted clinics - An 85 NTD discount per taxi ride - Up to a 45 NTD discount per ride on Taiwan Railways
Additionally, the card supports local tourism with 30 curated one-day tour routes. Elderly cardholders can book through county-contracted travel agencies and redeem 300 welfare points per trip, covering both transportation and travel insurance. This initiative enables seniors to travel safely and explore various attractions across Changhua.
Xu Rui-fang,理事长 of the Changhua Lecheng Social Welfare Association, said, "We sincerely appreciate Magistrate Wang's personal visit and support. In addition to blood pressure monitoring and communal meals, our station regularly organizes handicraft workshops and health promotion activities, providing a vibrant space for elders to stay physically and mentally active."
According to the Department of Social Affairs, the Gongguan Village Community Care Station is open every Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., offering the following services:
- Health promotion activities - Meal services - Home visits and关怀 - Telephone well-being checks
The county government will continue expanding the network of care stations, encouraging seniors to participate in health-promoting activities that help prevent dementia, delay aging, enhance social interaction, and support dignified aging in place.
