To make lifelong learning more accessible for workers and citizens, the Kaohsiung City Labor Bureau's Labor University continues expanding its educational presence in eastern Kaohsiung. Following the success of the highly praised 'Full-Body Stretch Yoga' course in Qishan, the 61st session now introduces a new Meinong class, officially commencing today. The program aims to help participants relieve work stress, improve physical flexibility, and cultivate regular exercise habits through professional yoga instruction.

Responding to popular demand from the Qishan class, the Labor Bureau has expanded its offerings to Meinong, further strengthening eastern Kaohsiung's lifelong learning network. The Labor Education and Life Center reported that the Qishan class received enthusiastic responses, with many participants requesting additional locations. After careful planning, the Meinong Branch Library's fourth-floor multipurpose classroom was selected as the new venue, offering residents easier access to education and reducing travel time to downtown Kaohsiung, thereby localizing learning resources.

This course is instructed by Wu Chia-jung, a certified yoga teacher with RYT200 accreditation from the American Yoga Alliance. Through progressive stretching and strength training, the program helps participants improve flexibility, relieve muscle tension, and enhance overall physical and mental well-being. It provides busy workers with a dedicated space to relax and recharge after work.

Participants shared that attending yoga classes previously required traveling to central Kaohsiung, consuming both time and cost. Now, with the Labor University bringing classes directly to Meinong, they can receive professional guidance near their homes—saving commute time and increasing motivation to consistently attend. Many hope the yoga program will continue and expand to include more diverse course options, offering eastern Kaohsiung residents broader learning opportunities.

The Labor Education and Life Center emphasized that the Labor University offers four course sessions annually and will continue deepening its presence in northern and eastern Kaohsiung. By collaborating with local resources, the university plans to develop more diverse curricula and expand local learning sites, encouraging workers and citizens to enhance professional skills, promote physical and mental health, and improve overall quality of life through lifelong learning.
