Toyota Camry Reviews
The Toyota Camry registered 460 units, a 10.8% increase from May, and its cumulative sales from January to June 2024 are up 41% year-on-year. Hybrid models remain the sales driver, accounting for approximately 44.7% of total Camry registrations.
Owners praised the Camry for its strong power, well-equipped features, fuel efficiency, and quiet ride. One reviewer noted, "The power and features are excellent, and it's fuel-efficient and quiet. The additional taxes and battery costs are offset by fuel savings, offering better value than my previous car." Another said, "Rear seat comfort rivals my F01 740LI at home—family members often fall asleep even on short trips."
The center console storage was also highlighted: "The space beside the gear shifter is practical—besides dual cup holders, the贯通 design can even fit a 14-inch laptop." However, some noted, "It's a pity the trunk doesn't have power open/close."
Overall, owners emphasized high value: "The interior space is large, rear seats are comfortable, and Toyota’s system integration makes everything convenient with minimal setup needed." Others added, "Affordable pricing with good features—just go for the hybrid trim."
Mazda Mazda3 Reviews
The Mazda3 registered 283 units, rising from 3rd to 2nd place. Users praised its balance: "Power isn’t extreme, but sufficient for daily use—step on it, and it accelerates. The body rigidity is excellent, and cornering is stable. I rarely hear tire squeal. This car made me fall in love with driving."
Design was a major highlight: "The body lines are beautiful, and reliability is superb—I’m very satisfied." Fuel efficiency also stood out: "This engine-transmission combo is extremely fuel-efficient—around 18–20 km/L on highways, and 14–15 km/L in the city, with a 7:3 highway-to-city ratio."
One buyer said, "It has looks,质感, handling, reliability, and fuel economy. If you're a young professional wanting your first car under a million, the Mazda3 is the best choice." Another added, "Every time I park and turn off the engine, I can't help but look back. Mazda’s designers poured soul into it—the flowing lines turn heads on the road."
The transmission was praised for intelligence: "It shifts smoothly even without deep throttle—revving to 4,000–5,000 RPM is easy. On steep sections like Miaoli, frequent braking and acceleration felt seamless. I kept thinking: I made the right choice."
Additional praise included: "No rival in surround-view cameras or interior quality in its class," and "The sound insulation is class-leading. The solid door closure and noise isolation are excellent—Japanese-built quality gives me peace of mind."
Suzuki Swift Reviews
The Swift ranked third with 195 units, slightly down from last month but still in the top three. Users called it "a solid commuter car" with "improved safety tech, ACC adaptive cruise, clear road feel, blind-spot detection, tire pressure monitoring, and great fuel economy."
"It's a competent city runabout—simple hardware and software, easy to maintain, and built to last," one said. Another called it "the king of city driving—under 4 meters long, easy to park, tiny turning radius, no stress in Taipei’s alleys. Once you drive it, you can’t go back."
"It’s very convenient in the city, stable at high speeds too. Power is modest but acceleration isn’t sluggish. ACC made the drive from Taipei to Tainan much less tiring," noted another. "Compact, easy to maintain, agile, and lightweight," was another common sentiment.
High-speed stability was praised: "Stable up to 120 km/h, no floatiness. The steering is light, responsive, and offers direct road feedback." Fuel economy: "Driving 100 km daily (70% highway, 30% city) with AC at 23°C, I averaged 22 km/L—worth every dollar."
Driver assistance systems exceeded expectations: "ACC’s acceleration and deceleration are incredibly smooth."
Mid-Tier Competition and Outlook
Positions 4 to 7 were held by the Volkswagen Golf, Skoda Octavia, Kia Picanto, and Honda Civic e:HEV—same models as May but with slight ranking changes, indicating tight mid-tier competition.
Among Toyota’s other imports, the Corolla Sport ranked 8th with 81 units, and the Crown placed 10th with 66 units—both slightly down from May. The Prius PHEV dropped out of the top 10 with only 39 units registered. Market attention now turns to whether the RAV4 PHEV and the 1.28 million TWD electric bZ4X will further erode Prius PHEV demand.
