The Council of Agriculture recently announced the list of 'Top 100 Young Farmers,' with a total of 106 people selected nationwide. Changhua County has 10 young farmers on the list, accounting for nearly one-tenth of the national total, with outstanding results! From creative and aesthetically pleasing combined potted plants, healthy and safe hydroponic vegetables, sweet and juicy melons, nutrient-rich soybeans, to delicately textured and market-favorite white oyster mushrooms, grapes, and pomegranates; in the livestock industry, there is the production of high-quality sheep milk and broiler chickens, showcasing the fruitful results of Changhua's diverse agricultural development. Changhua's young farmers are deeply engaged in agriculture with professional technology and innovative management, with their efforts visible across fields and pastures. Their achievements have been recognized nationwide, and the county government congratulates all the selected young farmers. The county has also invited the Taichung District Agricultural Improvement Station, the Middle Area Office of the Food and Agriculture Administration, the Changhua County Farmers' Association, and the farmers' associations of various townships to visit the homes or farms of the young farmers to post red notices, expressing the congratulations of County Magistrate Wang Hui-mei. Currently, the number of young people engaged in agriculture in Changhua County has exceeded 3,000, reaching 3,014, continuing to lead the nation. This is not only a set of impressive figures but also represents a young force that is taking root and growing on the land. To assist young people in engaging in agriculture and enhance the competitiveness of agricultural products, the county government has been promoting the 'Changhua Farming Academy' series of courses since 2020, aiming to create a comprehensive learning platform that provides diverse and practical content from production technology, brand marketing to management. By the end of 2025, a total of 1,170 trainees have been trained, with the number of participants growing year by year, reflecting the increasing eagerness of young people for agricultural learning and self-improvement. In terms of marketing and promotion, the county government, in collaboration with the county farmers' association, organizes domestic and overseas agricultural product exhibitions and sales, and through the 'Changhua Fresh' brand packaging, combines various major e-commerce platforms to diversely promote Changhua's high-quality agricultural products. In the field of smart agriculture, the county government also promotes subsidies for 'smart farming-related facilities,' with a maximum subsidy of 300,000 NT dollars. If the agricultural industry is special or meets relevant conditions, the maximum subsidy can reach 1,000,000 NT dollars. There is also the recently launched Changhua Smart Cloud APP, which transforms the planting experience of champion farmers into cloud-based big data, allowing new farmers to quickly get started. It truly achieves experience inheritance and technological upgrading. The key is that it is free to download, as well as the nine-in-one smart soil testing program. Through the introduction of technology into the agricultural field, a soil health passbook is established, allowing agriculture to transition from experience management to data management. It is hoped that Changhua's smart agriculture will become a new benchmark for the nation, together creating a beautiful Changhua.
