Taipei City Councilor Chien Shu-pei recently sparked a heated exchange with Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an during a council session over a dispute regarding information requests, with Chiang criticizing her for 'retaliatory information-seeking' and even dubbing her the 'Information-Seeking Voldemort.' The controversy has not yet subsided, and now grassroots civil servants in Taipei have revealed that Chien submitted another request on July 20, demanding the city government compile procurement data on copy paper across all agencies and schools, with a strict deadline of July 23, sparking dissatisfaction among some departments and frontline staff.

According to reports shared by veteran media figure Fan Chi-ming on Facebook and covered by multiple media outlets, Chien's latest request covers comprehensive statistics on copy paper procurement from 2022 to 2026 (Years 111–115) for all first-tier agencies, subordinate agencies, district offices, and municipal schools under the Taipei City Government. The requested data includes paper specifications, number of packs, number of boxes, total sheets (converted), procurement amounts, and budget categories.

The request also specifies quantities of A4, A3, and recycled copy paper, requiring a breakdown between purchases made through the Common Government Procurement Contract and those made independently by individual agencies. Data must be provided separately for each agency and school, along with a city-wide aggregate total. If the city government has not compiled total sheet counts, the data must be converted and submitted based on the number of sheets per pack or box.

In response to the controversy, Chien recently stated that what citizens truly care about is not political rhetoric but how the city's budget is formulated and executed. She questioned why a 7.44 million NTD shade umbrella project was so expensive, why the budget surged by 35 million NTD, and why the budget was split—issues she claims Mayor Chiang has not addressed at all.
