Hsinchu City Government has achieved another milestone in its ongoing efforts toward sustainable water environment management. The 'Xipuzi Constructed Wetland Ecological Restoration and Environmental Education Project,' jointly implemented by the Hsinchu City Environmental Protection Bureau and Tsai Yu Technology Co., has been honored with the 'Water Environment Restoration Award' under the 2026 National Water Sustainability Awards by the Environmental Protection Administration. This recognition not only demonstrates tangible corporate ESG achievements but also underscores Hsinchu City’s outstanding results in promoting public-private partnerships for water environment protection and biodiversity conservation.
Mayor Kao Hung-an stated that the Xipuzi Constructed Wetland is a vital ecological and environmental education site for Hsinchu City. The municipal government has long promoted wetland conservation, water quality purification, and environmental education, and in recent years has actively integrated corporate resources into environmental governance. She expressed gratitude to Tsai Yu Technology for its practical support in ecological restoration and volunteer services, extending corporate social responsibility beyond factory premises into public spaces, and jointly creating a sustainable urban demonstration site integrating ecological conservation, environmental education, and governance functions.
The key feature of the 'Xipuzi Constructed Wetland Ecological Restoration and Environmental Education Project' is the establishment of an 'enterprise-wide participation' mechanism. Tsai Yu Technology has institutionalized ESG principles into employees’ daily actions through a structured volunteer program and cross-sector collaboration, integrating resources from government, enterprises, schools, and communities to advance ecological restoration, water purification, and environmental education at the Xipuzi wetland, setting a sustainable model that delivers environmental, social, and governance (ESG) value.
Tsai Yu Technology has encouraged employees to complete a 32-hour environmental education volunteer training program, equipping them with knowledge and interpretation skills in constructed wetlands, biodiversity, and environmental education. Twenty-two employees completed the training, and in 2025 (Minguo Year 114), they led elementary students from Wenshan Elementary School on field visits to the Xipuzi Constructed Wetland. Through guided tours, hands-on experiences in water purification principles, and ecological observation activities, students learned about the critical role of constructed wetlands in water resource protection and ecological conservation, laying a strong foundation for environmental education among younger generations.
The Hsinchu City Environmental Protection Bureau noted that the Environmental Protection Administration’s 'Water Environment Restoration Award' recognizes enterprises and organizations that actively improve public water quality, implement water environment enhancement projects, and integrate recreational, aquatic, and environmental education functions. This year, Tsai Yu Technology stood out among numerous applicants and was honored alongside well-known domestic enterprises, demonstrating that Hsinchu City’s model of corporate engagement in environmental governance has become a benchmark with exemplary value.
The bureau emphasized its commitment to continuing collaboration with Tsai Yu Technology on environmental education initiatives. In 2025, Tsai Yu Technology will partner with National Tsing Hua University to launch the 'Xipuzi Literary Walk' project, integrating constructed wetlands, ecological education, and the cultural history of the watershed to create interpretive walking routes with dual significance for environmental restoration and cultural learning. This initiative aims to expand the multifaceted value of corporate participation in public water environment governance, amplify its social impact, and advance habitat restoration efforts. Through public-private collaboration, the project will continue to develop a demonstration site that integrates water environment conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable education functions.
