The 11th Taiwan Indigenous Boxing Championship officially kicked off on the 22nd at the Han Hsuan International Hotel. From the very first match, the event was charged with energy as fighters demonstrated their rigorous training, delivering intense, fast-paced bouts filled with dynamic offense and defense. Cheers erupted throughout the venue, setting an electrifying tone right from the start.

Competitors from across Taiwan gathered to compete in various weight classes throughout the day. Whether first-time contenders or seasoned veterans, each athlete gave their all, striving for excellence through speed, power, and unwavering determination—highlighting the deepening roots and vibrant growth of boxing in Taiwan.

The opening ceremony was another highlight of the first day. It began with a vibrant Amis tribal dance, whose passionate and energetic performance instantly ignited the atmosphere. The fusion of boxing’s fierce spirit with indigenous cultural energy created a unique and lively identity for this year’s championship.

This year saw a greater turnout of officials and distinguished guests compared to previous editions. Kaohsiung City Sports Development Bureau Director-General Hou Tsun-Yao delivered a speech on-site, encouraging and cheering on the athletes. Abus, Director of the Kaohsiung City Indigenous Affairs Commission, also attended to witness the official launch of the competition.

Additionally, numerous officials from various agencies, legislators, township leaders, and school principals dedicated to campus boxing development and athlete cultivation were present in support. This gathering of diverse stakeholders not only affirmed the achievements of indigenous boxers but also reflected the growing recognition of boxing in Taiwan, nurtured collectively by government, educational institutions, and civil society.

The event’s slogan, 'Original Fists Strike, Fearless,' symbolizes athletes stepping into the ring with the strength and pride of their indigenous heritage, boldly confronting every challenge. More than just a competition, the championship aims to foster confidence, discipline, and courage in the face of adversity through the sport of boxing.

The 11th Taiwan Indigenous Boxing Championship runs from July 22 to July 24 over three consecutive days. More thrilling matches are scheduled, and the public is invited to attend in person at the Han Hsuan International Hotel or join via live streaming to cheer for every courageous athlete on the ring.
